Twenty One Pilots’ Expression of Mental Health For a long time the topic of mental health has felt taboo in many situations, but that has slowly been changing and that change extends to musicians as well. Twenty One Pilots(Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun) is a great example of a band using their music to express struggles with mental health. There are many more examples of musicians with mental illnesses like Lady Gaga and Adele, both of whom have recently opened up about their depression, but Twenty One Pilots really puts their feelings on display in many of their songs. It’s this openness about their thoughts that really made me want to delve deeper into their work, beyond just listening to their music. This same thing happens in a song named â€Å"Fairly Local†. In the pre-chorus of this song Joseph talks about his self-doubt, telling himself that the song will never make it on the radio. When the pre-chorus rolls around a second time it’s in Blurryface’s voice, again possibly signifying that this doubt was irrational and not something Joseph truly felt was part of him. The act of using the Blurryface character, and the way in which it is done mirrors techniques used in therapy. More specifically, this practice mirrors narrative therapy, where in the patient is viewed separately from their problems to help better address sensitive issues (King). In the song â€Å"Goner† (The final song on the album) Blurryface is mentioned again in the lyrics â€Å"I’ve got two faces / Blurry’s the one I’m not† (Joseph). This further likens the use of this character to narrative therapy by saying that he is not this externalized culmination of his problems. Comparing verse 1 and 2 of â€Å"Fairly Local† also shows displeasure with Joseph’s perception of himself, and an effort to fix that. Being a public owned organisation the BBC’s capital is funded by government but any profit isn’t returned to the government. Instead it is invested back into to BBC organisation so that the BBC can maintain and improve their service by broadcasting more programs or increasing TV channels and improving their radio services because the aim of a public organisation is to provide a service to the public for free and not to make a profit so any profit is invested back into the business so the BBC creates a surplus. Surplus is a term used to describe when a company’s income exceeds their expenditure and this extra capital is reinvested into the business instead of being used in staff bonuses. The advantage of a public sector organisation to the public is that it they are usually a free service however the BBC is different as the public has to pay a TV license so this is a disadvantage to the public. As well as this the government is in a good position to plan the overall provisions for the country and any profits made could benefit taxpayers because if the organisation is making a profit the government has extra funds and taxes can be reduced or more money can be invested to improve the service that the BBC offer. The disadvantages of being a publicly owned company like the BBC are that the running of the corporation could be politically influenced. The ways that the BBC can be politically influenced is by the government asking to broadcast programs that support their views on various political subjects to persuade the public to follow their views and not the views of other political party’s. As well as this they can be influenced by the government as they can cut grants to the BBC like they have done with the police service. This would influence the BBC because the quality of their services would reduce and the amount of TV and Radio programs that they could broadcast would be lowered. Public corporations are very large, with high amounts of employees which can lead to inefficacies within the organisation. The BBC can suffer from having too many managers due to being a large organisation which costs a lot of money and decisions and information can take a long time to reach the bottom of the hierarchy leading to inefficacies in the BBC organisation. Thirdly, if the corporation is making a loss then high taxes may be implemented to increase government funds so that the organisation can cover their costs costing the taxpayer more. BP (British Petroleum) exists to supply fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals to the public at a cost for a profit. As well as this BP aims to make a profit. Health And Social Care Personal Statement Due to previous experiences of working with a range of people in the care sector I believe that throughout my time on various work placements with people who have disabilities and difficulties in communicating, along with the experiences gained throughout my studies, my wish to pursue a career in the care profession has grown. To further my interest in working with and around people I completed a course in childcare. Throughout this course I was able to gain valuable experience of working with special needs children. While this was very challenging I also found it an extremely rewarding and enjoyable experience. To further my knowledge and passion for working with people I took a health and social care advanced course and took a weeks experience in a day center that involves working with people who suffer from difficulties in communicating and having disabilities. This again helped to broaden my understanding of working with people and also how to deal with children and adults with disabilities. Within my spare time I have researched the job role and requirements for health promotion to find out what is involved. To build upon these interests further, I am taking up a one week work experience within the health field. I will be spending the first week in a care home focusing on helping elderly people that suffer from dementia and my second week assisting a health promoter to experience a more professional job role in health care. I am looking forward to this valuable experience as it will further consolidate my desire to study health and social care. The knowledge I had about these topics came from introductory courses and what I was being told by my family. I soon discovered that I had a lot to learn. I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church. I completed my First Communion and Confirmation. I grew up being told that God created all that is around us. Everything seemed so cut and dry until I began studying evolution in school. It was hard for me to try and understand both points of view initially. However, through several courses and due to my interest in science, I eventually came to my own conclusion. This conclusion however, as I found out this week, was still incorrect. I thought what I believed in was evolution. I found out this week that what I thought was evolution was in fact progressionism. Progressionism is the idea that life on Earth can be characterized by forward movement from lower to higher life forms. In the US Army, accountability is a key factor that everyone should be aware of. To be accountable means to be dependable. In order to be accountable, you must arrive on time to PT, formation, work, appointments, etc. It is mainly concentrated on three things: custody, care, and safekeeping. If you make it a point to be accountable 100 percent of the time, then there should be no worries of where you are, if you are in trouble, or if anything is wrong. Accountability is something that the Army does not take lightly. It should never be taken lightly due to the fact that it is a possibility your life could be at stake.What is accountability? â€Å"Accountability is the obligation of an individual or organization to account for its activities, accept responsibility for them, and to disclose the results in a transparent manner. † The DOD definition states that accountability is the obligation imposed by law or lawful order or regulation on an officer or other person for keeping ac curate record of property, documents or funds. This may include the responsibility of money, property, documents, NVG's, clothes, a vehicle, TA-50, a field manual, medication, etc.Not only is it considered that, it is also knowing that a soldiers physical and mental needs are taken into consideration so they are able to be more functional as a unit. It is important to the Army because it allow people to know where you are. When you have accountability for everyone, it is easier to track down people when they are needed to do a certain task. Not only is accountability important for people, but it is also important for the safekeeping of documents, gear, weapons, etc.If someone or something is not accounted for, then there is a possibility that something serious could be wrong or something could have happened. This is the reason why the Army has accou ntability formations; so that everyone and everything is safe and accounted for. Therefore, it makes accountability a lot easier than it would be if you did not have a way of keeping in contact.Another way to establish accountability is the buddy system. When someone is assi gned a buddy, then they are in charge of that certain person to make sure everything is going as planned and to keep track and make sure everything is ok. Accountability does not stop with the Army. It is essential in the civilian life also. In grasping and understanding reasoning we must understand critical thinking. In order to understand critical thinking, one must analyze the concept of reasoning. We use reasoning in communication. Reasoning is presented in language and is used to tell jokes, make insult, report factual information, describe a scene or a personality, tell a story, express our feelings, explain why we have acted in a particular way and ask questions. Sometimes we use reasoning to persuade others to accept the truth of a statement, by offering them reasons or evidence in support of this statement. This is the most central and material part of an argument. Arguments occur when someone believes some statement and presents reasons aimed at persuading others to adopt the same point of view. Often people do this without realizing that what they are saying is argumentative. When presented with an argument, critical thinking becomes an important part of the equation. Critical thinking is a systematic evaluation. This way of thinking is something we are not accustom to but we must learn how to use this system so we can judge situations and make more efficient decisions. Critical thinking allows a person to listen and make a decision based on all information that is presented in a problem. Once a person has digested information and determined its credibility, a decision must be made. Decision-making is a common way of helping to determine an outcome. Decision-making allows a person to clarify uncertainties and risks. Effective decision-making demands that a person confront uncertainty, judging the likelihood of different outcomes and assessing their possible impacts. From a managerial stand point, decision-making can be based upon logical, rational and a systematic process. At the end of the specified time, lift the basket from the fluid and observe the dosage units: all of the dosage units have disintegrated completely. If 1 or 2 dosage units fail to disintegrate, repeat the test on 12 additional dosage units. The requirements of the test are met if not less than 16 of the 18 dosage units tested have disintegrated. Apparatus 1 (Basket apparatus)à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã†â€™ the assembly consists of the following: a vessel, which may be covered, made of glass or other inert, transparent material a motor; a drive shaft; and a cylindrical basket (stirring element). The vessel is partially immersed in a suitable water-bath of any convenient size or heated by a suitable device such as a heating jacket. The water-bath or heating device permits maintaining the temperature inside the vessel at 37  ± 0.5  °C during the test and keeping the dissolution medium in constant, smooth motion. No part of the assembly, including the environment in which the assembly is placed, contributes significant motion, agitation, or vibration beyond that due to the smoothly rotating stirring element. Apparatus that permits observation of the preparation and stirring element during the test is preferable. The vessel is cylindrical, with a hemispherical bottom and a capacity of 1 litre. Its height is 160-210 mm and its inside diamete r is 98-106 mm. Its sides are flanged at the top. A fitted cover may be used to retard evaporation.2 The shaft is positioned so that its axis is not more than 2 mm at any point from the vertical axis of the vessel and rotates smoothly and without significant wobble that could affect the results. A speed-regulating device is used that allows the shaft rotation speed to be selected and maintained at a specified rate, within  ± 4 per cent. Shaft and basket components of the stirring element are fabricated of stainless steel, type 316 or equivalent, to the specifications shown in Figure 2.9.3.-1. A basket having a gold coating of about 2.5  µm (0.0001 inch) thick may be used. The dosage unit is placed in a dry basket at the beginning of each test. The distance between the inside bottom of the vessel and the bottom of the basket is maintained at 25  ± 2 mm during the test. The shaft is positioned so that its axis is not more than 2 mm from the vertical axis of the vessel, at any point, and rotates smoothly without significant wobble that could affect the results. The vertical center line of the blade passes through the axis of the shaft so that the bottom of the blade is flush with the bottom of the shaft. The paddle conforms to the specifications shown in Figure 2.9.3.-2. The distance of 25  ± 2 mm between the bottom of the blade and the inside bottom of the vessel is maintained during the test. The metallic or suitably inert, rigid blade and shaft comprise a single entity. A suitable two-part detachable design may be used provided the assembly remains firmly engaged during the test. The paddle blade and shaft may be coated with a suitable coating so as to make them inert. The dosage unit is allowed to sink to the bottom of the vessel before rotation of the blade is started. A small, loose piece of non-reactive material, such as not more than a few turns of wire helix, may be attached to dosage units that would otherwise float. An alternative sinker device is shown in Figure 2.9.3.-3. Other validated sinker devices may be used. Switch on the apparatus and collect the sample according to the respective sampling interval that is 5min, 10min, 15min, 20min, 30min, 45min, 60min, and 120min.
